Steve Beck
Steve Beck reunited with old band members from twenty years ago. Jake Noll and Roland Salazar entered Melody Ranch Recording studio to produce the new project called SOUTHERN IMPACT. The new record is receiving rave reviews and should be available for sale in mid February 2008.
There are vocal tracks along with the never-boring, intriguing instrumentals that Steve's style is known for.
Guitar players with style are a rare but essential part of Texas music. The Austin scene has been home to a few great ones, but so has South Texas. Some of the best players come from San Antonio (yes, San Antonio), and Steve Beck is one of them. His influences start at Jimmy Page and really never end. He is always seeking alternative tunings and strange chord structures to add to his already eclectic material. Some of the
instrumentals are carefully crafted guitar work that you rarely hear except from English Style guitarists.
On this debut album MIDNIGHT DANCE, Steve shows off his diverse style of playing. From Blues songs to Zeppelin driven rock songs, Steve has an array of choices for his listeners. Many guitarists in the state are aware of his talents. Until recently, Steve wrote only for himself, but fate led him to producer Chris Lieck, who instilled a confidence in his style and assisted in its development.
Steve is an avid guitar collector as well. He has many hard to find instruments that are captured in his debut album, “Midnight Dance.”
